Title Not Over: Guardiola Wary Of Liverpool Threat

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has warned that the Premier League title race is not over despite his team’s win over Leicester City on Monday night.

Guardiola and Manchester City were able to secure the three points needed to go back to the Premier League summit at the expense of title rivals Liverpool.

After the Leicester City game, Guardiola told reporters that the title is far from over and that title rivals Liverpool still pose a very big threat to their quest of retaining the Premier League trophy in Manchester.

Liverpool were the league leaders before Manchester City took on the Foxes in their last game of the season at the Etihad Stadium after their slim win over Newcastle United.

Reds striker Divock Origi had scored the winning goal of the game shortly after coming on as a substitute in the second half and with four minutes left on the clock to take his team to the Premier League summit but that lasted for just 48hrs following the Citizens’ slim win over Leicester City.

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany scored the only goal of the game with twenty minutes left on the clock to give his team a 1-0 win as well as the Premier League top spot heading into the final day of the current league season.

Liverpool host Wolverhampton Wanderers at home on the final day while Manchester City travel to take on Brighton knowing that they will win the league with a win over the Seagulls.
