Chelsea striker set to dump Stamford Bridge after meeting with Arsenal legend

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is currently on loan at Spanish side Valencia, but things haven’t been going well for him. He has scored just three times in all competitions and Valencia manager Marcelino is reportedly set to terminate his loan deal with the club.

The Belgium striker, despite all his efforts and impressive performances last season with BVB, failed to convince Maurizio Sarri he deserves a place in the manager’s team.

In fact, Batshuayi’s problem at Stamford Bridge started right from the days of Antonio Conte. The Italian manager didn’t rate the 25-year-old attacker as he stuck to Alvaro Morata even when it’s obvious the Spaniard was completely out of form.

Instead of turning to Batshuayi for solution to his team’s goalscoring problems, Conte surprisingly completed a last-minute move for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud during last winter’s transfer market.

Considering the way things have turned out for the former Borussia Dortmund striker, he’s understandably set to end his partnership with the Blues and move on with his young and not-too-successful career.

WHAT’S THE WAY FORWARD FOR MICHY

Michy Batshuayi is a quality striker whom many managers would be looking to have in their team and according to reports making headlines in France, struggling Monaco manager Thierry Henry is set to snatch the Belgian off Chelsea’s radar.

Just as Michy Batshuayi, the former Belgium assistant manager is struggling with his Ligue 1 side who are second from behind. After 17 matches played so far in the season, the Frenchman has won just three, drawn four and has lost 10.

With the winter transfer market set to commence in two weeks, Henry is set to add more threats to his frontline and Batshuayi is reportedly the prime target.

WHY THE STRIKER WILL BE A GOOD BUY FOR HENRY

Having worked with the striker at international level, Thierry Henry won’t need to develop any chemistry with Batshuayi because it’s already established.

The player already knows what the manager wants from him and he equally knows the manager’s style of play, hence, it won’t be difficult settling into the team and playing the manager’s pattern of football.

Combining Henry’s experience as striker and Batshuayi’s shooting abilities, Monaco will definitely benefit from the existing understanding between both parties.

However, Chelsea might fail to release the Belgian too early. Maurizio Sarri’s team are not scoring plenty of goals and the Italian manager is reportedly set to turn to the Belgian for solution.

Morata, Giroud and Loftus-cheek (though not getting enough first-team actions) are enduring a dry-spell in front of goal, so, Sarri has made up his mind to hand a recall to Batshuayi in the second half of the season.
