Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, and it appears he won’t be at West London when the new premier league campaign starts this weekend.
According to new reports, the Belgian shot-stopper has told Chelsea’s new boss Maurizio Sarri about his intention to leave Stamford Bridge during a meeting both recently held at Cobham.
Thibaut returned to London on Monday from his World Cup vacation, and he joined the rest of the guys as they train ahead of their first top flight game against Huddersfield Town this weekend.
The Belgium international has been repeatedly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, and it is understood that he is keen on moving to Spain to be with his family.
After Chelsea lost 2-0 to Manchester City on Sunday, manager Sarri chose to have some discussions with the 26-year-old before a decision was made over his future.
And according to ESPN, the talented goalkeeper has told the manager of his intentions to quit Stamford Bridge before the end of the ongoing summer transfer window.
However, it was added that the West Londoners won’t let him leave their side this summer until they sign a superb replacement for him.
