Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has refused to comment on Nemanja Matic’s move to Old Trafford from Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Serbian left Chelsea to join the Red Devils in August after Chelsea boss Antonio Conte deemed him surplus to requirements at the West London club.
The transfer came as a shock to many, with the Serbian having played a pivotal role in helping them win the League title under new boss Conte the season before.
The midfielder has been in brilliant form for Jose Mourinho’s team since his transfer and has easily slotted effortlessly into the first team at the club.
However, his former team-mate at Stamford Bridge Thibaut Courtois refused to comment when questioned if he feels that Chelsea have been missing the midfield maestro this season.
Courtois is cited as saying by the Independent: “I [Thibaut Courtois] don’t know [if Chelsea have been missing Nemanja Matic].
He admitted the midfielder is a brilliant player, who contributed immensely to the success of the team last season.
The goalkeeper and Matic are set to face each other when the Blues host rivals Manchester United in the English Premier League at the Bridge on Sunday.
Chelsea head into the match looking to start winning again after the disappointment of their 3-0 defeat to AS Roma in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Jose Mourinho’s United side, meanwhile, were 2-0 winners over Portuguese side Benfica at home in midweek.
