According to the Belfast Telegraph, Belgium international goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has said that Antonio Conte’s men are fired up ahead of their Premier League encounter against London rivals Arsenal.
The Chelsea first choice goalkeeper said it is a good time to play because everyone is healthy and things are going well at the Bridge. The Blues won away at Leicester City, won comfortably on Tuesday evening and will go into the London derby with a good feeling.
After the bad first half display against Burnley in the opening match of the Premier League season, the team has responded well with good performances. Conte’s men have shown good team spirit, good quality football and good victories most importantly.
Courtois said: “Do we (Chelsea) feel like we (the players) are in a good place (form)? Yes. Sometimes it is good to face a top team early (in the season). Last year (the team) it didn’t work out (well) against (top Premier League teams like) Liverpool and Arsenal, but this Premier League season we (the players) have already won at Tottenham (Hotspur)”.
The Gunners had a few bad (Premier League) matches, but won comfortably against AFC Bournemouth last weekend.
“It’s a big (Premier League) game because we (Chelsea) are third (on the League table). We (Chelsea) want to close the gap to Manchester United and Manchester City and take points (maximum 3 points) off Arsenal,” Courtois stated.
