Chelsea Loanee Scores On Injury Return

Aston Villa striker Tammy Abraham made a scoring return from injury against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday to help the Midlands club boost their English Championship playoff hopes.

The Nigerian-born English international attacker scored one of the goals for Villa in their 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at home.

He had been out of action for the better part of this month with a calf problem.

Tammy Abraham is on a season-long loan at Aston Villa from Chelsea.

He joined Villa on the deadline day of last summer’s transfer window.

Tammy Abraham gave Aston Villa the lead against former Premier League champions Blackburn Rovers as early as the eighth minute before another loan player added a second goal just after the hour mark.

Tyrone Mings was responsible for the second Villa goal.

The English centre back is on loan from Bournemouth at Aston Villa whom he joined during the winter transfer window.

Amari’i Bell pulled one back for the visitors in the 74th minute to setup a grandstand finish but Aston Villa survived the scare to seal a major win that took them from sixth to fifth spot on the Premier League table.

Tammy Abraham was instrumental to the win over Blackburn Rovers and he has now scored 22 goals since joining the club on loan.

He spent previous loan spells at Bristol City and Swansea City from Chelsea though the in-form striker has talked about his desire to have a first team career at Stamford Bridge.
