Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella has returned back to Spain in an attempt to revive his ailing career. The 21-year-old has joined Spanish Segunda division club Extremadura until the end of the season. Chirivella secured a return back to his homeland shortly before the latest January transfer window was shut on Thursday night. Several English Championship sides were interested in the Spanish midfielder before he signed for Extremadura. Nottingham Forest and Welsh side Swansea City were keen on a loan switch for the young Reds star. A large portion of his playing time at Liverpool this season has been for the U23s.
