Granit Xhaka’s national team mate, Stephan Lichtsteiner, believes the midfielder has learned to be more responsible and now possess world-class leadership skills.
Stephen Lichtsteiner praised Xhaka during an interview recently, claiming that the 25-year-old Swiss has learned leadership skills since joining the North London giants from German Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach a year ago.
Lichtsteiner said the midfielder has always taken on great responsibility, and what he has managed to learn at Arsenal, is top club, and world-class.
The admitted that Xhaka’s leadership skills are extremely important to the national team.
Stephen Lichtsteiner has been the captain of Switzerland since 2015 and has been featuring for Switzerland’s senior team since 2006. He’s played 95 matches. Therefore, Granit Xhaka can be chuffed with the praise by the 33-year-old.
Xhaka replied his captain by stating that Steph has been a regular starter who has won a lot of titles for years, yet he is as hungry as he was at 20 years old.
However, Arsenal fans are yet to see so much of Granit Xhaka’s leadership skills. He clearly shouts a lot, undoubtedly, but just screaming and barking instructions at your playing colleagues does not make one a captain material.
The Arsenal star has now played 58 matches for Switzerland, netting eight goals in total.
