20-year-old Shamal George has signed a new deal with Liverpool, and the club have announced a confirmation on social media.
He has been a red since 2009 and he chose to put pen to paper for a new deal with the Merseysiders to extend his stay at Liverpool.
The Anfield club announced the news of the terms being agreed on their official twitter handle on Wednesday afternoon.
It was also made known that the youngster will move to Tranmere Rovers on loan after signing the new contract, and he will be with League Two side for the first half of the new campaign.
Obviously, George’s move to the League Two will help enhance his development, as he will get to play regularly at Tranmere Rovers.
The fact that Liverpool offered him a new deal is a clear indication that he is highly thought of at Merseyside. All he should do is to work very hard and try to impress manager Jurgen Klopp. If he can do this, then he can easily find his way into the manager’s plans at Anfield.
Liverpool signed Alisson Becker from AS Roma a few days ago and are expected to sell the duo of Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet over the next 12 months. This, of course, is a good opportunity for George to step up.
