Barcelona star player Sergi Roberto is one of the club’s stars linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer after emerging as a target for Premier League duo of Manchester United and Chelsea.
There have been lots of speculations surrounding him and the Spanish player has come up to clear the air, declaring he is staying at Barcelona amid the links with other top sides.
The Spain international played a prominent role for Barcelona last season but there were speculations that he was considering his future with the Catalan giants following the arrival of now-former Guangzhou Evergrande star Paulinho.
Roberto has a £36million buy-out clause in his current deal at Camp Nou and Chelsea are reportedly ready to slug it out with domestic rivals Manchester United.
However, the 25-year-old insists he is happy at Barça and intends working hard to become one of the most important in Ernesto Valverde’s squad this season.
Sergi scored the second goal for the Catalan giants in their 2-0 win over Real Betis yesterday, and speaking after the game revealed how happy he was on a personal level – even at the loss to Real Madrid in the Super Cup.
‘In [our] pre-season [games] I was not starting, but now in [our] official matches I’m playing more. I want to continue here and continue like this.’ he said.
