Injured Spain international Santi Carzola has been left out of Arsenal’s Premier League squad, but a fit-again England international Jack Wilshere is included.
England midfielder Jack Wilshere has been named in Arsene Wenger’s Premier League selection, but injured Santi Cazorla was left out.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger indicated Jack Wilshere would be permitted to leave the North London club in the next transfer window if the Gunners received a suitable bid.
But with no deal finalized before Thursday’s transfer deadline day, Wilshere – red carded in an Under-23 fixture against Manchester City in August – has been added to the 25-man list submitted to the Premier League.
Injured Cazorla, who is in the last 12 months of his current Arsenal deal and has not kicked a ball since October 2016 as a result of an injury, has posted regular updates on social media sites about his ongoing recovery.
But with the Spain international midfielder’s return to active football some time away, the Gunners decided not to name him in their English Premier League squad list, and he will now not be able to feature in a league match until at least January.
Defender Calum Chambers is included in the 25-man squad after the Gunners reportedly turned down offers for him from Leicester, while full-back Mathieu Debuchy also made the team list.
