Revealed, how Mourinho blocked Cristiano Ronaldo return to Old Trafford

Emerging reports have revealed that Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho stopped club chairman, Ed Woodward, by convincing him not to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.

According to the report, Ronaldo would have been to the Old Trafford at the summer instead of Juventus.

It was claimed that a £90million fee was to be tabled for the world star but  United manager convinced Ed Woodward, citing huge demands of wages of  £500,000-a-week as the reason for his stance on the matter.

 

The Mirror also claimed that Mourinho’s top priority was to reinforce defensively and tabled the request for  Toby ­Alderweireld, Harry Maguire or Diego Godin.

The inability of Mourinho to get his wish of recruiting defensive players still remains an issue between himself and the club’s chairman, Woodward.

Mourinho has watched his side suffer two successive defeats to Brighton and Tottenham, a development that has left the fans furious.

Ronaldo has yet to settle at Juventus since his move and is expected to make an emotional return to Manchester in October after United drew the Italian giants in the Champions League

Feelers are that Ronaldo in United would have helped the Red Devils outclass their Manchester rivals, aside the fact that he is being loved by the club’s fans.

The Portuguese enjoyed a prosperous career as a United player where he won the Premier League, Champions League and the world best player before his Move to Madrid.

He also played under Mourinho in Spain where the former Chelsea boss also had a 3-year spell, winning the La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana.
