Chelsea tactician Antonio Conte has played down rumour that has heavily linked him with a return to his former role at the Italian national team, as per ESPN’s Chelsea reporter Liam Twomey.
The Italian tactician has been strongly tipped to be the next coach to take over at the Italian National team and to return the team to winning ways after their surprise FIFA World Cup playoff loss to Sweden.
However, Antonio Conte played down the speculation and disclosed he wants the very best for his nation.
He admitted that the period is not a great moment for Italy at the moment, as they just missed out on next summer’s FIFA World Cup in Russia. He, however, advise the Federation to take time to find the best solution to the disaster.
The former Juventus head coach will be solely focused on his current job at Stamford Bridge for the remainder of the league season as he attempts to mount a serious challenge in all competitions, including the Champions League.
The reigning English Premier League champions have made a staggering start to the new season but looked like a new and different team after beating fellow title-chasers Manchester United before the FIFA international break.
Antonio Conte formerly successfully managed Italy national team and is not considering a return at the moment.
