As per Express, La Liga giant Real Madrid were offered the opportunity to sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez on transfer Deadline Day as the forward hopes of joining Manchester City faded.
The Chile international came close to reuniting with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City after both clubs agreed a £60million transfer fee for the attacker according to the Daily Star, however the transfer failed to materialize after Wenger’s team failed to bring in a replacement for the rebel forward, as per the Express, with Arsenal failing to agree a fee for Monaco star Thomas Lemar despite having a £92million offer accepted.
As per Spanish news outlet Don Balon, the 28-year-old was offered to Real Madrid, with the European Champions turning down the offer emphatically.
The same publication reported that Sanchez’s representative was the one who offered the Chilean to Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane viewing the attacker as a player who the Spanish club don’t need to sign, with the Real coach, who is reportedly happy with his current squad, identifying a move for Sanchez as a luxury.
Notwithstanding, Don Balon report that Real Madrid would not oppose signing the Chilean on a free next summer once his current Arsenal deal expires.
