Real Madrid Opt For Kepa Over De Gea

Spanish giants Real Madrid have opted for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of Manchester United shot stopper David De Dea according to reports emanating from the British media.

According to the specific publication from TeamTalk, Real Madrid have made Kepa their top transfer priority in the goalkeeping department ahead of De Gea.

It was revealed that signing Spanish goalkeeper Kepa would be cheaper than signing his compatriot De Gea who’s a long-term transfer target of Real Madrid.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is the most expensive goalkeeper in the history of world football after the Blues splashed the whopping sum of £71m at the start of this season.

Chelsea had to activate his then release clause at Spanish La Liga club Athletic Bilbao to sign him last summer and Real Madrid will require more than that world-record fee to sign him.

The signing of David De Gea would definitely be more expensive than that of Kepa potentially with the report claiming that it could take around £100m in addition to weekly wages of around £400,000.

Real Madrid are eyeing a major rebuilding job on their squad this summer after a poor season which saw them miss out on all trophies as early as March.

French football legend and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is expected to oversee the rebuilding job at the club.
