Midfielder Snubs Chelsea For £170,000 p/w Deal At Barcelona

The search for a midfield signing continues for Chelsea after they were snubbed by Paris Saint Germain (PSG) midfielder Adrien Rabiot who is set to join Spanish champions Barcelona.

French media outlet Le Parisien claim that the young French international player will sign for Barcelona on a free transfer at the end of the season thereby ending the hopes of Chelsea and other interested teams.

It was revealed that he Adrien Rabiot will sign a five-year contract at Barcelona with a sign-on fee of £9m since he would be joining them as a free agent in the summer.

The proposed contract is worth £170,000 on a weekly basis.

Adrien Rabiot could be the second midfielder to join Barcelona this summer after Ajax Amsterdam star Frenkie De Jong.

Barcelona have already signed the Dutch international midfielder but he’s not expected to join his new teammates until the end of the season.

Rabiot was previously in the PSG first team until he was frozen out by senior club officials towards the end of last year as a result of his decision not to sign a new contract.

The ex-Manchester City Academy player had earlier told the French capital club that he wants to leave in the summer when his contract expires.
