Ozil

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been linked with a shock return to UEFA Champions League (UCL) as he is yet to put pen to papers on a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

His contract with Arsenal ends in the summer of 2018 and popular Spanish media outlet Marca says Ozil could re-sign for the 11-time European champions partly due to the fact that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is a big fan.

One man who would be happy for Mesut Ozil to return to Madrid is Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who was reportedly sad when Ozil was sold to Arsenal in 2013.

Aside Ozil, Paris Saint Germain (PSG) winger Angel Di Maria was also linked with a move back to Real Madrid in the same Marca report as a result of his unhappiness at Parc des Princes.

Oblak

Arsenal have been keeping tabs on highly rated Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak following his impressive performances with the Rojiblancos.

According to Goal, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger sees Oblak as a long-term replacement for current first choice Petr Cech however his £85m release could prove to be a stumbling block.

Wenger

Head coach of Bundesliga leaders Red Bull Leipzig, Ralph Hasenhuttl is on the Arsenal shortlist of coaches in line to replace veteran club manager Arsene Wenger according to the Sun.

Wenger has hinted this season could be his last with his contract set to expire at the end of season however nothing is confirmed yet.

Hasenhuttl has had a swell time in charge of Red Bull Leipzig this season though the club has reportedly been tracking his progress for two years.
