Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho appears to already have his attentions on the fast approaching summer transfer window.
And as he recently talked about the type of player he desires bringing into the Old Trafford club come summer, it’s now obvious he is after players with certain qualities.
The Portuguese boss, who has been coach at different clubs in different countries, is always in love with players who are loyal to their teams and with strong personalities. He however thinks he is still short of them currently at United, and indicated that he is looking for players to form a sort of new foundation at the club.
The boss appears to be interested in players who will be committed to the club and would have a good relationship between themselves.
The former Inter Milan coach made reference to when he was still managing the Milan club, and he described himself as a ‘fish in water in this domain.’ The manger boasted of having players who were willing to follow him everywhere – the likes of Ibrahimovic, Materazzi, Motta, Cordoba, and Milito.
According to him, the major priority is to establish relationships that are founded on peace and love in the squad which will create stability.
Mourinho is quite right. One of the factors that keeps bringing success to the Sir Alex Ferguson’s team was the relationship between the players and their commitment to the club.
The likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, all chose to stay committed to the club, played together for long, and they win together.
The new set of players at Manchester United got a long to learn from Ferguson’s guys.
