Incumbent Amaju Pinnick has returned as the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
He will now continue as a President of the Federation until 2022.
Pinnick recorded a slide win in the Thursday election which was held in the northern Nigerian state, Katsina.
Pinnick polled 34 of available 44 votes, as he defeated former president Aminu Maigari who managed 8 and Taiwo Ogunjobi with 2 votes to the position.
The former Delta boss had emerged in 2014 but his election was contested by Chris Giwa who claimed the election was not authentic.
This threw the country’s federation into crisis with two factions claiming to be the authentic president.
The crisis drew the attention of the world football governing body which almost attracted a FIFA ban as a result of Interference by the court.
It took the invention of the country’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to restore relative peace.
Meanwhile, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi has also been re-elected as the 1st Vice – President and would go another 4 years of leadership from 2018-2022 after defeating Otunba Dele Ajayi with 39 votes after scoring 41.
Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau emerged winner for the post of chairman of Chairmen unopposed following the withdrawal of Ifeanyi Ubah from the race.
FIFA representatives, Luca Piazza, Solomon Mudege and CAF representatives were among international observers who witnessed the election.
