Brazil international midfielder Philippe Coutinho has vowed to ‘give his maximum’ to Merseyside giant Liverpool after a transfer to Spanish La Liga side FC Barcelona fell through this summer transfer window.
The Brazilian submitted a transfer request as the La Liga side made several offers for his services throughout the transfer window – only for Liverpool to stand firm and deny the Liverpool man the opportunity to move to the Nou Camp.
Coutinho, 25, missed the beginning of the English Premier League season with a back problem but was passed fit by medics to play for his Nation Brazil in their FIFA World Cup qualifying encounter against Ecuador and Colombia earlier in September.
The attacking midfielder hasn’t spoken about the transfer saga or about his stance since then, but he has now told the Reds he is prepared to give his best help the team’s cause.
The playmaker has since returned to good form with two goals in his last two matches for Liverpool.
The attacker has since returned to goalscoring form for Liverpool, netting in the English Premier League win over former English Premier League champions Leicester City at the King Power Stadium and the 1-1 draw in the UEFA Champions League with Spartak Moscow.
