Merseyside giants Liverpool have let FC Barcelona’s 7pm deadline to pass by without accepting their bid for Brazilian Philippe Coutinho.
The Jurgen Klopp tutored side had already rejected three bids from Camp Nou to the frustration of Barcelona Chiefs.
A £72million offer was followed up by a £90m offer before the Catalan giant tabled a staggering £113m just on Friday.
FC Barcelona had the added incentive of the Brazilian’s transfer request which had been sent via email to Liverpool Chiefs.
But club owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have stood firm on their stance not to sell the attacker.
FC Barcelona gave the Reds until 7pm Sunday evening to accept their latest bid or face having the offer withdrawn.
And according to popular British Tabloid the Daily Mail, the Reds were glad to let the 7pm deadline and cash pass by.
It is widely thought that Liverpool did not reply to FC Barcelona.
Having already rejected the offer, it seems the Reds sees that enough of an answer not minding the 7pm deadline which Liverpool gave them.
The publication also claims Barcelona have now threatened to end their summer-long pursuit of the Brazilian altogether.
The playmaker has been FC Barcelona’s top transfer target to replace departed Neymar Jr at the Camp Nou.
But the Reds are adamant he won’t be sold, and the 25-year-old attacker now faces the prospect of having to represent the Reds once again.
