According to the Daily Star, Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is ready to be offered a new deal by the Etihad club, a development that will come as a major blow for their English Premier League rivals Arsenal, who are believed to be keen on bringing the attacker to the Emirate Stadium.
The 22-year-old joined Pep Guardiola tutored side back in 2015 from Merseyside giant Liverpool, and has about three years remaining on his current Arsenal £200,000-weekly contract at the club, according to the Daily Star, with the Manchester club eager to stress how pivotal the winger is in the plans of manager Pep Guardiola by offering him a new contract.
Raheem Sterling, who netted twice in Manchester City’s recent victory against Crystal Palace, has been told by the Skye Blues that is was the Gunners who said the wanted him as part of the club’s transfer deal for Chile international Alexis Sanchez, and not City wanting to let him go, as per the Daily Star.
The same publication claim that, as well as the former Liverpool star, Manchester City are ready to offer new contracts to the trio of Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, midfielder David Silva and striker Gabriel Jesus.
