Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised the contributions of striker Divock Origi during a big week in the Reds’ quest for major honours in both the Premier League and the Champions League.
Klopp was full of praise and admiration for Origi during his pre-match press conference ahead of the home game with Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.
The German tactician described the last one week as the Divock Origi week after the Belgian international made an impact in each of the Reds’ two games, one in the Premier League and one in the Champions League.
Origi came off the bench in the last league game against Newcastle United in strange circumstances after he replaced star player Mohamed Salah shortly after he suffered a head injury.
The former Lille and VFL Wolfsburg player went on to score the winning goal for the Reds in a 3-2 away win over the Magpies.
Liverpool scored the winning goal courtesy Divock Origi in the 86th minute to take the Premier League title race to the final day.
Origi then scored two goals for Liverpool against Spanish champions Barcelona in their Champions League clash on Tuesday night to take his tally to three goals in two games.
His goals helped the Reds to a thumping 4-0 win over Barcelona in the second leg of their semifinal tie and a 4-3 aggregate win thereby securing their place in the Champions League final billed for June 1.
