Chelsea winter signing Olivier Giroud has urged club chiefs to seal the long-term futures of Belgian Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois amid contract worries for the superstar duo.
The France international striker linked up pretty well with Hazard in Monday night’s Premier League victory over West Brom, as the duo will hope to understand themselves better to ensure that Chelsea secures a top-four end this campaign.
Further, the side remains in the hunt for the Emirates FA Cup and UEFA Champions League, and so, manager Antonio Conte will look to top players like Eden Hazard and goalkeeper Courtois to lead the team by example having been a massively important part of their title-winning run two of the last three seasons.
As reported by The Mirror in January, there is big uncertainty surrounding the duo though, with the shot stopper seeing his current deal run out next summer transfer window, while Eden Hazard’s contract runs until 2020.
Naturally, the Blues don’t want to enter into the last year of the goalkeeper’s Chelsea deal as they will edge even closer to the risk of losing such a key player for free the following summer window or having to sell him in a reduced-price deal to get something from his sale.
The new Chelsea striker has now said that the side needs to agree a new deal with the pair to make sure that they stay at Stamford Bridge.
