New Manchester United interim coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now been handed a bigger responsibility in terms of having to decide contract issues regarding some players in the club.
Although the former United player is only to take charge of the club until the end of the season, he has been asked to make a decision on the future of five United players whose contract with the club expires in a couple of months.
The likes of Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Phil Jones, Andreas Pereira and Antonio Valencia will be out of contract this summer with a decision needed to be made by the club latest this month which makes the club hand the responsibility to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to give his thought on what should be done.
Although, Andreas Pereira is bent on leaving the club having failed to impress and having limited playing time at the club but should he gain the trust of the interim manager, he could reconsider his stand.
However, the Red Devils are yet to successfully convince Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea to remain at the club after the next 12 months as he is currently at the Old Trafford against his wish.
The former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper has insisted on leaving the club following his fallout with former United boss Jose Mourinho.
