Many Liverpool fans are of opinion that their club need to sign a strong defensive midfielder before the winter transfer window closes next week.
Recently, reports have linked Liverpool with Portuguese international and Sporting CP star William Carvalho. But in this report, the player talked about is Roma star Leandro Paredes.
For quite some time now, The Reds have been linked with the 22-year-old Argentine holding midfielder that they were even interested in hiring his services last summer, but he eventually stayed with Roma.
However, If the latest reports are anything to go by, Liverpool now have the chance to finally sign the midfielder for a fee of 30 million euros (I.e $32million).
A renowned Italian journalist in the person of Gianluca Di Marzio stated that Paredes is a wanted man in the English Premier League, and that his Italian side Roma are prepared to sell him for a fee of €30million (i.e €25m plus €5m in various add-ons and bonuses).
Last season, he played on loan for Empoli with 33 appearances and scored twice, providing one assist in the process. This season too, having featuring already in 22 games for the Giallorossi, he has been able to score just once.
Liverpool actually need a specialist Defensive Midfielder to help out the back line and sure, Leandro Paredes could be the man that can solve Klopp’s defensive concerns.
