Champions League winners Liverpool have no interest in Lyon midfielder Nabil Fekir this summer according to the publication from popular English media portal the Independent.
This is contrary to reports from France which claimed that the Reds had resurrected their interest in the French World Cup winner.
It was revealed that Liverpool have no plans to sign Nabil Fekir who came close to joining them last year.
Liverpool agreed on a £50m deal with Lyon for the transfer of Nabil Fekir and the player had already undergone his medicals before the Reds called off the deal.
The newly crowned European champions had reservations over his knee and that prompted the decision to cancel the multi-million pounds transfer.
Nabil Fekir was able to recover from that little setback to help his country to the 2018 FIFA World Cup trophy.
He was part of the 23-man France squad that won the World Cup tournament in Russia last summer via a 4-2 victory over fellow Europeans Croatia in their final clash in Moscow.
Liverpool won’t make a lot of signings this summer but they are expected to reinforce their squad in two areas primarily.
The Reds need a backup left-back to replace Alberto Moreno who left the club this summer after the expiration of his contract.
Liverpool might also sign a new midfielder with the likes of Bruno Fernandes (Sporting Lisbon) and Tanguy Ndombele (Lyon).
