Inter Milan director Beppe Marotta has denied that there’s a rift between the club and unsettled striker Mauro Icardi who has been linked with a move away from the club.
Beppe Marotta is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan.
He occupied a similar role at Italian champions Juventus until the end of last year when he left the Juventus Stadium to join Italian Derby rivals Inter Milan.
Beppe Marotta told Sky Sports Italia that there’s no rift between the club and Argentine international Mauro Icardi and that he would not like to talk much about the affairs of the club publicly.
The Inter CEO was reacting to the player’s outburst on social media after club manager Luciano Spalletti had revealed that he will only work with players that are committed.
Spalletti spoke about players’ commitment during his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of yesterday’s game at Cagliari.
Without Icardi, Inter Milan were beaten 2-1 by lowly Cagliari.
Mauro Icardi has not played for Inter Milan since he was dropped as the team’s captain two weeks ago and was replaced by goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.
The former Sampdoria player has been linked with a move to major European clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United and West London giants Chelsea.
