Nicolas Gaitan has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time now, but the talented player ignored Manchester United to join Atletico Madrid from Benfica, despite being constantly linked with the red devils every year.
However, it appears the La Liga is not meant for the Argentine player, and there are now talks of moving to the premier league anytime soon.
This season so far in the La Liga, Nicolas has started just one game for Atletico Madrid and he is expected to leave the club next year.
And speaking recently to Foot Mercato about his client, the 29-year-old’s agent Jose Iribarren made it known that there are ‘strong’ offers on the table for the South American player, and that he will leave the Spanish capital in January.
Iribarren said the player, who was an important member at Benfica, can’t continue at Atletico Madrid with his current situations, and that English clubs have been keeping tabs on him and are interested in him.
Jose also said his client is open to either a loan move or a permanent transfer to any side where he can easily blend into, and the club must be one that would offer him regular playing time.
Can he play for Man United? Will Mourinho move for him? January will tell!
