Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that the Italian Serie A giants are interested in a move for highly-rated Toulouse centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo with the view to a move when the mid-season transfer window reopens in the New Year.
De Laurentiis made this known in an interview with Italian news outlet Corriere Delo Sport as he also said that Napoli would like to loan him out until the end of this season just like what they did with Senegalese international defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
Koulibaly is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in world football and the Napoli supremo believes that Frenchman Todibo can follow in his footsteps.
Jean-Clair Todibo is one of the most sought-after talents on the world football stage with over 40 clubs said to be interested in a move for the 18-year-old.
Some of the clubs interested in the young French defender include Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Todibo has impressed a great deal for his French Ligue 1 side since he broke into the first team this season due to the summer departure of ex-club skipper Issa Diop who left Toulouse for West Ham United during the summer’s transfer window.
He has less than one year left on his present contract at Toulouse who are keen for him to sign a professional deal with the club.
