Everton star striker Romelu Lukaku has been seriously linked with Chelsea and Manchester United ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window. However, it appears Man United manager Jose Mourinho is more keen on getting the Belgian star, and might eventually get his signature if Chelsea did not act fast.
Manchester United have eventually lost Swede legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic to injury, and it is necessary that he sign one or two powerful strikers to add more quality to his squad. Right now, Daily Star states that Jose Mourinho is set to splash 85 million pounds ($110million) to get Lukaku’s signature.
Lukaku has been in top form for Everton and currently leads the goal-scoring charts in the English top flight, having scored 24 times. In all competitions for the Toffees, he has in 37 games in all competitions, scored 25 times and has provided seven assists this season.
Manchester United are set to play in the Champions League next season if they can win Ajax in the Europa League final. They therefore needs a superb goal scorer if they are not to be dwarfed by other top European clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and the rest.
Lukaku is very likely to leave Everton this season to play with a club that can offer him Champions League football. And if Man United can win the Europa League, the Belgian international is likely to come over.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte, on the other hand, is said to be more interested in bringing Real Madrid star forward Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge.
