Amid the numerous reports linking Manchester United with various defenders, the club’s Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho has made it known recently that he had no plan to overhaul his defense department when summer comes.
Mourinho has previously insisted he won’t be signing a new attacker at the end of this season, but that he is only interested in reinforcing both his midfield and defense departments.
However, the former Chelsea boss has recently revealed some of the club’s plans .
Speaking to the club’s official website, Jose said he isn’t interested in selling any of his players this summer – including the duo of Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind (both have been linked with moves away from Old Trafford in recent times).
The manager however made it known that the player leaving Old Trafford this summer ‘for sure’ is Michael Carrick.
The club legend is set to hang his boots at the end of this season and he is expected to join Mourinho’s coaching staff after his retirement.
Manchester United have been linked with some talented midfielders meant to replace Carrick at the Theater of dreams.
The likes of Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk) and Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic have been constantly in the news as a result of their links with the red devils
