Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has made it known he is not interested in signing more attacking players in the summer.
The Portuguese tactician signed Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal last month, sending Herinkh Mkhitaryan to the other direction. He was able to snatch the Chilean star away from Pep Guardiola’s grips by offering a better package to the player and his representatives.
The likes of Gareth Bale, Antoine Griezmann and Cristiano Ronaldo has been heavily linked with Manchester United in recent times, but Mourinho is insisting he is no longer interested in signing more attackers.
The former Chelsea boss said his attack department is fine, and the club will prioritise other areas when the window reopens in summer.
Speaking after the 2-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday, the manager said the likes of Sanchez, Lukaku, Martial and Rashford can all play as central forwards, and apart from Romelu, the rest can also play from behind. He believed he already has enough attacking players, and will simply focus on some other areas when January comes.
With the likes of Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini leaving Old Trafford at the end of this season, Manchester United are expected to focus on reinforcing their midfield department, and they have been linked with some talented midfielders ahead of summer.
