Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has asked Marouane Fellaini to put pen on paper for a new deal to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
During their recent premier league game against Spurs on Wednesday, Marouane was substituted just seven minutes after the manager called on him from the bench.
But it was made known afterwards that the Belgium international has picked an injury and could be sidelined once more for two months.
His current contract at Old Trafford is meant to expire at the end of this season and he isn’t showing signs he will extend his stay at the club by putting pen to paper for a new deal with the red devils.
However, speaking at his news conference yesterday, manager Jose Mourinho jokingly said he recently asked the Belgian to sign the deal offered by the club, and then ‘shut up’.
The 30-year-old will undergo further tests to know the extent of his injury, and manager Jose Mourinho will hope he can get back to full fitness before the Champions League game at Sevilla on February 24.
Marouane has evolved into one of the most important members at Old Trafford but he has been disturbed by injuries at several points this term – which has made him miss 20 Manchester United games so far this season.
