‘He’s ready’ – Mourinho confirms star player is now ready to start

Manchester United manager has hinted that striker Marcus Rashford is now ready to start for the club after showering praise on the young lad ahead of his 21st birthday on Wednesday.

Rashford has scored just a goal this season in six Premier League appearances and another three in the Champions League, adding to the feats he has had with the national team in his few years of senior team football.

Mourinho has stated that it is difficult to find a 21-year-old player who plays regularly in the first team of a club like United, stating that most of his age mates are only squad members and do not see games while others just have few minutes to play.

According to him, Rashford have had an unbelievable appearance at his age and has been handed the opportunity to develop his career at United.

There are suggestions that the Portuguese manager is now ready to have the English player start ahead of Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku who has been under firing this season with no goal to his name in the last eight games.

A push from the England national team coach Gareth Southgate for Rashford might help influence Mourinho’s decision having earlier admitted the need for his players to have more playing time at their clubs.
