Emerging reports indicate that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho does not trust the assurance given to him by the club’s board over his future as he demands a public declaration of support for him.
Last week was a pressure-filled one for the Portuguese manager who had thought Saturday would have been his last day as a United manager going by the speculations surrounding his future.
Before the 3-2 win by the Red Devils, The Mourinho team had gone four games without a single win in addition to the crisis in the dressing room and that was not a situation that was bearable.
However, it was reported that the former Chelsea boss had received a text message from the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward some hours before the Newcastle game, assuring him of their support and dismissing the speculations that he would be sacked after the game.
However, the game has been won and the Portuguese manager believes he can turn things around at the Old Trafford but he wants an assurance for his job made public by the owners.
His decision to demand for a public show of support will help him gain more control of the dressing room and also help ease pressure amidst the speculations that surround him.
