The winter transfer window is closing on Wednesday, and according to new reports circulating in the media about Thomas Lemar, his French club have made it known that they won’t sell the France international in the closing stages of the transfer window.
Thomas was close to joining Arsenal last summer and has been consistently linked with a move to the Premier League this month.
Lemar is thought to be keen on making a move to Anfield to play for Liverpool, but his club have made it known they won’t sell him this month.
The Ligue 1 champions seemed open to selling the exciting youngster when the window reopened in the new year, but are not going to allow the player leave anymore – perhaps since it’s obvious they can’t get a replacement for him again this January.
Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev, speaking recently to French radio station RMC, he said no offer will be considered for Lemar this month – even if Liverpool and Arsenal should come up with big bids.
Vadim believes Thomas is one of the important players at the club that can help them succeed – even though he missed two games in a row for the club last week.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is expected to sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho who was sold to Barcelona earlier this month.
