Red Bull Salzburg striker Moanes Dabour was amongst the goalscorers as his Israeli side came from a goal down to beat Austria 4-2 in their Euro 2020 qualifying match.
Austria took the lead as early as the eighth minute through West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic and that proved to be the wake-up call needed by the hosts.
Israel equalised in the 34th minute through Eran Zahavi who plays his club football for Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F.
Zahavi proved to be a thorn in the flesh of the away side as he scored the second goal on the stroke of halftime to turn the game around in his team’s favour.
The 31-year-old completed his hattrick in the 55th minute to edge the home team 3-1 ahead.
Moanes Dabour added a fourth goal on 66 minutes as the Austria-based striker showed why he has been linked with a move to Premier League leaders Liverpool.
The Israeli attacker has been heavily linked with a move to the Reds following his sensational form for Red Bull Salzburg in the last two seasons.
His goal put Israel 4-1 ahead before West Ham star Arnautovic scored another consolation goal for the Austrians with fifteen minutes left to play.
Israel closed out the game to condemn the Austrians to a second successive defeat at the start of their Euro 2020 qualifiers.
