Premier League title challengers Liverpool have sealed a spot in the Champions League final at the expense of Spanish champions Barcelona.
The Reds had to mount a miraculous comeback against their Spanish opponents in the second leg of their semifinal tie at Anfield on Tuesday.
Liverpool had lost the first leg 3-0 in Spain due to the brilliance of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi who scored two goals in the second half of that game and needed to score four unreplied goals to secure a win over two legs after 180 minutes.
The Reds took an early lead through Belgian international star Divock Origi who was the replacement for star player Mohamed Salah who missed out with a head injury.
Salah sustained a head injury during the 3-2 win over Newcastle United at the weekend in what was a Premier League clash.
Liverpool substitute Georginio Wijnaldum was surprisingly left on the bench for the game with Barcelona and he came off it to good effect after netting two goals in two second half minutes to give Barcelona a 3-0 lead before the aforementioned Origi scored a fourth goal after quick thinking from Trent Alexander-Arnold from a Liverpool corner kick.
The fourth and final goal from Origi took the Reds to the final where they will face either Ajax Amsterdam or Tottenham Hotspur.
