Premier League giant Manchester United will make an approach to sign Arsenal star Mesut Ozil on a free transfer from their arch-rivals this coming January.
As per The Independent, the FIFA World Cup-winning playmaker has shown no real intent to stay at the Emirates Stadium, following the expiration of this season.
United manager Jose Mourinho and German Mesut Ozil enjoyed a brilliant working relationship at Spanish La Liga giant Real Madrid, where both men teamed up back in 2010, winning the Spanish La Liga and the Spanish Copa del Rey together.
The 28-year-old midfielder had been earning several reviews for his outings at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa and that even led to Wayne Rooney suggesting to former boss Sir Alex Ferguson to snap him up as the England star grew frustrated with the lack of big-name players arriving at Old Trafford.
Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho is now, according to reports looking to sign the player often made a scapegoat for some of Arsenal’s below standard performances in recent campaigns having joined the Gunners in 2013 for about £42 million.
Jose Mourinho has kept tab with his ex-player and even pen the introduction in Ozil’s recent book titled, Gunning For Greatness: My Life.
