Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is close to being named the new manager of Italian Serie A champions Juventus according to one of the most trusted journalists in Italian football.
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri revealed that Juventus will soon appoint the aforementioned Sarri as their manager after they were turned down by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
According to him, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was their first choice but the Spanish tactician is not ready to swap Manchester for Turin.
It was revealed that Pep Guardiola has turned down the Juventus job three times.
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is not assured of his place at the club after a topsy-turvy season at Stamford Bridge and the Juventus job represents a sweet escape from his woes with the West Londoners.
Despite the inconsistent displays that have characterized Chelsea this season, Sarri was able to secure a Champions League return for the Blues after a third-place finish on the Premier League table.
He also led the Blues to two finals, Carabao Cup and the Europa League.
Sarri and Chelsea lost the Europa League final to holders Manchester City via penalties, while they will face London rivals Arsenal in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
