French Ligue 1 giants Marseille have failed in their quest to boost their squad with the addition of controversial Italian international striker Mario Balotelli.
According to French publication L’Equipe, Marseille won’t sign the Italian player after they failed to agree to terms with him.
Mario Balotelli is an ex-Liverpool player that spent just one season at the club before he was farmed out on loan to seven-time European champions AC Milan.
He plays his club football for French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice at the moment.
Mario Balotelli scored just one league goal for Liverpool in 16 appearances in what turned out to be a disappointing spell for him.
He was unable to live up to the expectations of the Reds fans despite the fact that the Italian was part of the Manchester City team that won the 2011/12 Premier League title.
With the new development, Nice star Mario Balotelli is likely to see out the rest of the season at the club.
Marseille have not hit the heights expected this season, especially in the French Ligue 1 and the club, we’re hoping that Mario Balotelli would be able to fire them to at least a top three spot that will guarantee Champions League participation next season.
