Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho says Manchester United star Marcos Rojo will be fully fit and ready to feature for his team in two weeks’ time against Premier League Champions Chelsea, according to reports.
The Argentine has not played since sustaining a knee ligament tear during the UEFA Europa League quarterfinal match against Anderlecht in April.
Rojo was part of the team for the club’s summer training tour of the United States of America, but only to continue his recuperation.
And although he travelled to Lisbon on Monday ahead of Manchester United’s UEFA Champions League clash against Benfica, he did not play against the Portuguese club.
However, manager Jose Mourinho said before yesterdays game he’s not fit enough to play and instead gave him a target of United’s match against the Blues at Stamford Bridge in November.
The former Chelsea boss has failed to settle on a regular starter at left-back so far this season and has switched between players like Daley Blind, winger Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian.
It is likely that the 27-year-old defender will play for the under-23 side before making his return to the senior team.
So far he does not suffer any injury setbacks, he could be fit for selection for United’s away trip to Stamford Bridge on November 5.
