Manchester United Vs Arsenal – Arsene Wenger Speaks On Relationship With Jose Mourinho

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has spoken about his relationship with Jose Mourinho as the pair are ready to meet again on Saturday.

Wenger took out time to defend his poor record against the former Chelsea boss. In his 15 matches against Mourinho, Wenger has only won once.

Both managers have not hidden their dislike for each other, having regular public taunts which led to an argument on the touchline in 2014 at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal will go to Old Trafford with the knowledge that a win will take them to the top of the table at least for some time and leave them nine points above Manchester United.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference Wenger was not interested in sparking up any issues with Mourinho.

He said “I don’t think I have to describe our relationship. He will fight for his team and I will fight for mine. We didn’t always lose. There were many draws as well. I won against every manager in the world in my 20 years here. I don’t make it a competition between two managers. I understand people want to make controversy but the game will make the audience.”

When asked if he will shake Mourinho’s hands, Wenger replied

“Of course. I respect the ritual that is so important in the Premier League. It’s Arsenal against Manchester United. We have won and lost games on both sides. You don’t consider the manager, you think about the team you are playing and that’s it.”
