According to reports, Premier League giants Manchester United are readying to make Spaniard David de Gea the highest paid shot-stopper in world football in what would be a significant transfer statement to speculated suitors Real Madrid.
Two departure expected to fund the move
As per the Daily Star, the Red Devils want to offer the safe hand £350,000-weekly to fight off the Los Blancos, and will possibly fund the move by offloading big striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Belgium midfielder Marouane Fellaini as they edge closer to the end of their respective contracts.
The duo are high earners at the club so allowing their contracts to expire could free up more fund for this vital move for one of their key players.
The 27-year-old has performed pretty well during his time at Old Trafford, recovering from a rather tricky start to become established as one of the Planet’s best goalkeepers.
United keen on keeping goalie
United would do well to keep the Spain international goalkeeper from Real’s grasp, particularly at a period when the La Liga giants are not at their strength following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013.
The Manchester club has not recovered well since the Scott’s departure, though there have been signs of major progress under current manager Jose Mourinho.
