Manchester United Manages to Win Manchester City

When two great teams go head to head, the match can swing either way. No prediction is cast in stone even if one of the teams has had a lesser performance than the other.

The same was the case of Manchester United and Manchester City. Through out this season, Manchester City has been in top form, winning almost all their games. The same can not be said about Manchester United who lost their last match to Chelsea with a scoreline of 4-0.

However, when the two rival teams came head to head in yesterday’s match, Manchester United unexpectedly emerged the victor of the match.

Juan Mata’s second-half strike secured  a victory for Manchester United and a ticket to reach the English Football League Cup quarter-finals.

Historically speaking, Mourinho has only three victories in 13 encounters with Guardiola.

It seemed that Mourinho’s half-time team talk gingered the boys after a goalless first half. After Manchester City’s goalkeeper Willy Caballero had touched a shot from Pogba onto the post, United made a slick move, and a goal was recorded in the 54th-minute lead.

City remains on top of the league due to their goal difference. Both teams have moved onto the quarter-final stage.
