Gary Neville Stated Just One Thing That Can Stop Chelsea This Term

Gary Neville believes injuries to key players is the only thing that could stop Chelsea’s title bid and stop the blues from winning the Premier League title this season.

After their brilliant start to the campaign under new boss Antonio Conte, the Stamford Bridge club have established themselves as the firm favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

Antonio Conte’s side missed the chance to move 12 points clear at the top of the table last weekend but are nevertheless still the heavy favourites to win the title this current term.

Their remarkable upturn in form this season has been in contrast to their struggles last term, when they finished 10th on the table and without a trophy.

And Neville is of the opinion that the only thing that could end Chelsea’s title bid would be injuries to some of the London side’s key personnel.

Neville speaking to Sky Sports said he doesn’t think it is about whether or not Chelsea will drop points.

“They will. But it is whether the others are capable of putting together potentially the greatest run in Premier League history.

“To win 14 or 13 games on the bounce on the way in, you are still relying upon Chelsea losing three or four matches and winning 13 and 14 games.

“I don’t think we have got the trust in the other teams to do that.

“The fact that Europe is starting again for many [other] teams as well makes it more difficult.

“Chelsea are strong favourites, it could happen, but Chelsea would have to have injuries to key players.

“That is the one thing that could be [a] problem to Chelsea.”

Chelsea will go on to attack Wolves in the FA Cup fifth round this weekend.

And Antonio Conte Issues Frank Warning To His Men

The former Juventus manager has warned his Chelsea players that the Premier League title race is far from over after their 1-1 draw with Burnley on Sunday.

Despite not getting the full points, they are still 10 points clear at the top of the table as they bid to win the title in Conte’s first campaign at Stamford Bridge.

The Chelsea coach has however warned his players that the race for the trophy is far from over, despite their clear advantage.

He told his post-match news conference at Turf Moor: “There are 13 games before the end of the season and if someone think this league is finished, I can tell you now, no.

“There are six teams [for me]that can win the league and anything can happen. We have to think only of ourselves, not the others.

“It’s mportant to play your game to think only of your game and then you think of the other results. We must continue to work this way.”

The Italian coach was brought in as Chelsea’s new manager following their 10th-placed finish last season under Jose Mourinho.
