Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that Brazil international Philippe Coutinho will miss the encounter with Manchester City this Saturday, but there is good news elsewhere.
The playmaker played and scored for Brazil during last week’s international break, despite missing Liverpool’s opening three English Premier League matches with a back injury.
The former Borussia Dortmund tactician has reiterated that there is a true fitness issue despite suggestions that the Brazilian’s absence was strongly linked with the transfer window and intent to join Fc Barcelona after he submitted a transfer request, but shockingly it seems he’ll return to the sidelines this weekend.
The Liverpool boss will expect the Brazilian to remain committed to the team despite not getting his move to the La Liga club, but fans will have to hold on another week at least before seeing Coutinho back in action.
Meanwhile, according to reports, there was some positive news for Red fans over Adam Lallana’s recuperation from a thigh problem.
Although no return date has been fixed for the 29-year-old who has been out of action since the beginning of August after sustaining the disappointing injury, it’s believed that his recovery is going well as he’ll be hoping to step up his recuperation and return to active action in the coming months.
