Manchester United are reported to be keeping tab on Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake.
The Red Devils are expected to face a tough competition from Tottenham for the player with reports that manager Mauricio Pochettino has made the 23-year-old his top target.
The former Chelsea defender has been in fine form and Jose Mourinho has made him a target against the January transfer window.
The Portuguese manager will be counting on his past relationship to convince the player having worked together at the Stamford Bridge when the Ake was much younger.
The situation remains dicey for both Mourinho and Pochettino as they could arrive at a consensus knowing that the former Chelsea boss wants the player as a replacement for Toby Alderweired whom he was able to sign in the summer while the Bournemouth defender is a target for Tottenham because Alderweired has refused to commit his future at the club.
With suggestions that United will prefer Alderweired ahead of Ake, Tottenham might have it very easy to capture the Bournemouth defender.
However, Mourinho has been assured of a better outing in the January transfer market which gives hope of more additions to the Old Trafford in the second half of the season.
