Three-time European champions Manchester United have been ruled out of the race to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
This is according to the report from the Daily Mirror which claimed that Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward is not ready to make another big money signing for the fear of him ending up as a flop.
Bruno Fernandes has a release clause of €100m in his current deal at Sporting Lisbon.
Apart from Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes has also been linked with other Premier League sides like Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and newly crowned Champions League winners Liverpool.

Bruno Fernandes has been attracting the interest of clubs in England after a sensational season for Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
The 24-year-old scored 33 goals and also provided 17 assists for Sporting Lisbon in all competitions during the just concluded season.
His form propelled Sporting Lisbon to third place at the end of the league season in the top flight of Portuguese football and also led them to the Portuguese Cup triumph.
Sporting Lisbon won the Portuguese Cup title after their penalty shootout victory over rivals FC Porto.
Both sides had played out a 2-2 draw at the end of both regulation and extra time.
